Pricing

zeuz charges for all server-side compute resources that you use, including servers that you use as game servers or for other backend services.

zeuz charges a single price per unit of compute (for example, per bare-metal machine or cloud vCPU) for the time that it’s provisioned for. This price includes:

  • Server sourcing, provision, and maintenance.
  • Hybrid Cloud orchestration technology.
  • Games Operation Centre (24/7 monitoring and support).

Prices vary by region and server hardware type.

Server hardware types

You can host your game on one server hardware type from the table below, or a mix of bare-metal machines and cloud servers (Hybrid Cloud). See the table below for details of these different hardware types. If you use a mix, zeuz orchestration technology scales your game across different server hardware types as needed.

Note

To run your game as cost-efficiently as possible, we recommend that you run your base-load on reserved bare-metal, and then burst onto a more flexible cloud server at times of peak demand.

We can help you decide the best ratio of bare-metal and cloud for your game.

Hosting Server hardware typeRegional availabilityPayment typeEgress pricingBenefit
Reserved bare-metal machineGlobal (excluding China; regional limitations apply)Monthly, reserved in advanceIncluded in server price*Usually the cheapest option for stable requirements.
Reserved cloud serverGlobal (including China**; regional limitations apply)Monthly, reserved in advanceBilled on useCheaper than on-demand cloud server.
On-demand cloud serverGlobal (including China**; regional limitations apply)Hourly, based on useBilled on useThe most flexible and most expensive option, as charged to the nearest minute.

*Egress limit applies but is typically sufficient to cover use, even for bandwidth-heavy games such as fast-paced action games. These limits vary by server type. For example, zeuz might provide an allowance of 10TB per month for an 8-thread machine. Overage is billed at or near to cloud egress rates.

**Tencent Cloud provides hosting for our partners in China (contact zeuz support if you’d prefer to use another provider).

Reserved bare-metal hosting

With reserved bare-metal hosting, you reserve bare-metal machines upfront for at least a month. The monthly cost includes egress (see the note below the server hardware types table for limitations). This option has the following benefits:

  • The price per core per hour is usually cheaper than for reserved or on-demand cloud server hosting.
  • It is the cheapest option if your server requirements are stable.

Pricing

zeuz offers many different bare-metal machine configurations, across different vendors, regions, and operating systems, and with different commitment terms. The pricing for bare-metal machines is based on all these factors. Contact us if you’d like to discuss your requirements and get a quote for bare-metal hosting.

Cloud hosting

Cloud accounts

When you use cloud servers as part of zeuz managed hosting and orchestration, you can either use your own cloud account for payment, or use a zeuz cloud account.

Using your own cloud account

If you use your own cloud account, you:

  • Can use Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Tencent Cloud.
  • Manage the commercial relationship with your cloud providers.
  • Can’t use zeuz managed networking services.
  • Pay:
    • The cloud providers for infrastructure (such as servers, disk, and bandwidth) and support (typically as a percentage of the total bill).
    • zeuz for orchestration and management (per vCPU). The cost is for this is the same regardless of cloud provider.

Using a zeuz cloud account

If you use a zeuz cloud account:

  • You can:
    • Use GCP or Tencent Cloud (contact support) if you’d prefer an alternative provider).
    • Use our managed networking services.
  • zeuz:
    • Manages the commercial relationship with the cloud providers.
    • Combines the infrastructure, orchestration, and management fees into a single bill.
    • Passes on discounts on cloud infrastructure, which are normally greater than the orchestration and management fee.

Reserved cloud hosting

With reserved cloud hosting, you reserve a cloud machine upfront for at least a month, and you pay for egress. This option has the following benefits:

  • It’s cheaper than on-demand cloud hosting.
  • You have a predictable provisioning cost because zeuz charges you monthly.
  • It’s a suitable option if your server requirements are fairly stable from month to month.

Pricing

Contact us if you’d like to discuss your requirements and get a quote for reserved cloud hosting.

On-demand cloud hosting

With on-demand cloud hosting, you control how much server capacity you provision and pay for. zeuz charges to the nearest minute, rather than monthly. This option has the following benefits:

  • You have more flexibility to scale your usage up or down according to your needs.
  • It’s a suitable option if you can’t estimate what your usage requirements are yet, for example in the early stages following a game launch.

Pricing

If you’re using a zeuz cloud account, see the tables below for the prices for each machine. zeuz rounds the total price up to the nearest minute, with a minimum of 10 minutes per machine. Additional machines are available; contact zeuz support for more information.

Our default cloud provider is Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in all regions except China, and Tencent Cloud in China. If you’d like to host on a different cloud provider, or you need different machine types, contact zeuz support.
